The stress ultrasound is a stress test combined with a cardiac ultrasound which makes it possible to observe the cardiac contraction during effort. This test is carried out on a stress ultrasound table, a sort of tilting examination table with a pedal. The patient produces a brief effort but of progressive intensity over a period of 5-10 minutes while the cardiologist checks the proper functioning of your heart during this effort. This test is a very good ischemia test, in particular for the detection of coronary damage causing cardiac ischemia with a reliability comparable to myocardial scintigraphy or stress MRI.
